First time running since the marathon on 9/30, but FELT SO GOOD. I was only going to do like .7mi, but I’m like wow, I can do a lot more running this feels amazing, so I kept running. I didn’t take one break!! Tthis is a big step up for me! I even felt so good I was like “I can be home by 20:00” and it was like 18min when I started getting close to my house, and I was like…I want to be in the driveway by 19:00. So I sprinted home. I think it’s because I really know what my body is capable now..amazing!

first run in my fivefingers in the dark. so cool out, i didn’t get out of breath until i finished one mile. only took 3 breaks and my pace felt really nice. got some wonderful blisters under my big toes…

summerfest 5k 2012

SO HOT. 90 degrees and very humid, even at 8am. i lost my nike sensor so i didn’t keep track of my pace but guessing i was between 8.5-9 min/mile pace during the first mile and a half. i slowed down after that and sped up at the end. my time was 33:38, coming in 67th out of 73. not my best time, but definitely not my worst. i will work my hardest to be in the 20s next year!

29:21. 90 degree weather and 52% humidity. Thought id get in a hot run before I have to race in it tomorrow. Not a bad time considering I hadn’t run in 2 weeks. After I take my first break I really just cant get past the mental barrier of “I cant do this anymore.” I can run a mile straight but as soon as I stop to walk even for a few seconds I just cant run for a long time anymore. It makes me really mad, but ill work on it during tomorrows run.
